I. About the Taiwan Birth Cohort Study 1. Background of the study The "Taiwan Birth Cohort Study" (TBCS) is a nationwide long-term follow-up study commissioned by the Bureau of Health Promotion, Department of Health, Executive Yuan, with Professor Chiang Tung-Liang of the College of Public Health, National Taiwan University, serving as the project's principal investigator, who invited domestic experts and scholars to jointly plan and conduct the study. From the perspective of life-course epidemiology, it collects evidence-based data on early-life environmental factors related to adult health, in order to integrate manpower and social resources across relevant professional fields, jointly provide the nation's future citizens with the highest-quality care and services, and create an environment conducive to children's health and growth. 2. Purpose of the study This study aims to understand the overall picture of children's health in 21st-century Taiwan and its influencing factors, to serve as a basis for formulating the nation's child health policy.
