Senior Citizen Condition Survey 2013

1. This survey was conducted pursuant to Article 10 of the Senior Citizens Welfare Act, mainly to collect data on the living conditions of Taiwan's population aged 55 and older. This survey focused on family caregivers, and additionally surveyed care-related questions for the primary family caregivers of persons aged 65 and older who are unable to live independently. 2. The questionnaire is divided into three types: "65 and older," "55-64," and "primary family caregiver." The content covers: family and living conditions, health status, daily living and self-care ability (65 and older only), employment status, social activity status, family caregiving conditions, economic status, understanding of elderly welfare measures, willingness to move into elderly welfare institutions, elderly apartments, elderly housing, community care centers, or nursing homes, living conditions for those already residing in such facilities, views or feelings about elderly life, and basic information, among others; the "primary family caregiver" questionnaire covers basic information, caregiving work conditions, and needs for government-provided caregiver support services. 3. This survey completed a total of 4,310 interviews for "65 and older," 2,610 for "55-64," and 469 for primary family caregivers. 4.
